Floor Care & Maintenance
Protect your investment and keep your floors looking beautiful for years to come with our expert care guidelines.

Carpet Care Guide
Regular maintenance extends the life of your carpet and keeps it looking fresh. Different fibres require slightly different care, but these general rules apply to all.
Regular Vacuuming
Vacuum at least once a week, and more frequently in high-traffic areas. For cut pile carpets, use a vacuum with a rotating brush (beater bar). For loop pile carpets (especially wool), use suction only to prevent fuzzing and pilling.
Spill Management
Act quickly. Scoop up solids and blot liquids immediately with a clean, white paper towel or cloth. Never rub or scrub the pile, as this can permanently damage the fibres and spread the stain. Work from the outside of the stain inwards.
Professional Cleaning
Have your carpets professionally steam cleaned (hot water extraction) every 12 to 18 months by a reputable operator following AS/NZS 3733 guidelines. DIY machines leave too much moisture and detergent residue behind.
What to Avoid
- Over-wetting the carpet when treating spots
- Using harsh supermarket stain removers without testing first
- Dragging heavy furniture across the pile
- Direct, prolonged sunlight (use window coverings to reduce fading)
